Laboratory Medicine

Laboratory Medicine

The role of the Department of Laboratory Medicine is to provide counsel on the results of different diagnostic laboratory tests and offer new approaches and findings to our colleagues. We perform tests of considerable extent and diversity including blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid and other body fluids.

The Laboratory Medicine has a broad range of fields including diagnostic hematology, clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, diagnostic immunology, blood bank/immunohematology, diagnostic molecular genetics and medical informatics. The all laboratory tests, interpretation and reports are managed by the 5 prominent professors, specialized in the respective areas by each part. Most of examinations are made by advanced automation devices.

Examination request and reporting are made by clinical doctors accurately and quickly for 24 hours throughout the Oder Communication System (OCS) and Laboratory Information System (LIS). Our department has been certified as a top-quality laboratory by the Korean Society for Laboratory Medicine.
